I began working on my online portfolio, I choose to develop my site using Square Space. The template I choose was called ‘Forte’ this was more ideal and focussed well towards landscape and travel imagery. It also uses a slideshow and has lots of room so you can add notes and put in the place names.
This is my home page, everything is full page and makes the photographs dominant over the site so it gives the impact that I am a travel photographer. They circle through the first images from each of the galleries in that one index. At the bottom is has to location of which album it is from to help find this easier. Other pages I have is a wildlife section and my about me section. I have also added links to different social media on the top so people can see my work and follow me easily.
These are my different galleries located under the travel folder, I have one for each of the different countries to keep this simple and will easily relate back to my printed portfolio that I am creating.
I also have my wildlife section, although this is similar to the different countries I wanted to keep these under there own album so they can easily be found and located without going through all the different galleries.
My About me page I wanted to keep simple without having to much detail. I added what my specialism is and what else I do, I wanted to include my education to show that I have a degree and I also studied abroad. Along with Exhibitions that I may have done and that may be coming up so that my viewers can see more of my work. I also included contact detail in this page to make sure people could get hold of me, along with a form which also gives me feedback or messages from potential clients.
I could add some more information like a map that has the locations that I have travelled to, I could also make a video about my work and write a bit more about myself, in a biography style showing my interests, giving away more of my personality.
